It is the first time I am seeing an Orange Headed Thrush and photographing it. Got it today afternoon from my home yard. Orange Headed Thrush is considered as a common bird, but I think it is not so common here. Oriental Magpie Robin, which also belongs to the same family, is more commonly seen.

Took these photos from a bottom-to-top direction and that is why the background included portion of the sky, couldn’t find a way to avoid that. The bird likes to spent most of the time in the shades. Its size is medium, about 20 – 25 centimeters.
The bird belongs to the family Turdidae (the family of thrushes) and its species name is Geokichla citrina.
