Heart-spotted Woodpecker is a small woodpecker with black and white colors. The bird is not uncommon in Kerala. Its distribution is fairly wide in Asia. In India, the Himalayas and the Western Ghats are the main regions.

Rufous Woodpecker is a brown colored woodpecker from the family Picidae. It is found in many parts of Asia, especially South and South East, including India. In Kerala, it is found in forested areas.
